Yang Feng is the Deputy-director of Industrial Development Department of SINOMA (Nanjing), has been working for more than 20 years. As a professional and technical backbone, he works conscientiously and strives for perfection, winning the trust and praise of leaders and colleagues. At the end of 2019, during the critical period when the company was developing overseas market, he responded positively to the call and volunteered to go to Nigeria to take up the heavy responsibility of preparation work of the industrial park in Nigeria.

When he first arrived at the industrial park, most of the site was shrubland and swampy land, and the rainy season in Nigeria which lasted for nearly half a year begins from May every year. Before the rainy season, a series of work such as site clearance, topography measurement, construction plan design and site leveling had to be completed to ensure that the subsequent work would be carried out as planned. Time is tight, and the task is heavy. Yang Feng visited the site under the hot sun, braved heavy rain to understand the drainage situation of the site, and collected first-hand information for the planning of the park. The topography of the park is high all around and low in the middle, so how to drain the park smoothly in the rainy season and ensure that the park is not flooded is a top priority. Based on the first-hand information collected on site, Yang Feng discussed with the design team, relevant staff of the subsidiary company and the construction unit for many times, and quickly finalized the main drainage plan in 3 days. Now the drainage system has successfully withstood the baptism and test of 3 consecutive rainy seasons and has become a beautiful scenery of the park.

At the preliminary stage, all the work could only be undertaken by Yang Feng himself. At the end of August 2020, the color stone tile factory is scheduled to commission with materials, and the park needs to guarantee power supply and gas supply. Yang Feng negotiated with Power Gas for gas supply while organizing personnel for power station equipment commissioning, and organizing installers for pipeline installation and testing, while training local employees on gas unloading safety. After 72 hours of continuous struggle, the natural gas station and power station operated normally and ensured that the color stone tile factory was commissioned with materials as scheduled.

Since 2020, the epidemic has been raging worldwide, and the situation in Nigeria, where the economy and medical care are less developed, is even more severe. Yang Feng, in accordance with the epidemic prevention policies and requirements of the Group and the company, led the staff to  formulate an epidemic prevention strategy in line with the actual situation. From material stockpiling to grid management, from inspection of personnel to regular disinfection, everything was organized in an orderly manner. At the same time, Yang Feng also attached great importance to the safety issue, through regular safety inspections, safety training, self-inspection of risk sources to strengthen the safety awareness of the staff, enhance the ability to identify risks, and consolidate the level of emergency response, so that the life and safety of Chinese and foreign employees in the park are guaranteed. During the epidemic period, prices soared and the construction unit requested for price increase. He actively communicated with the construction companies to ensure the progress were promoted as planned.

For the construction of the industrial park, Yang Feng did not spend the Spring Festival with his family for more than two years, and devoted himself to the front line. With the spirit of "sacrificing the small family for the everyone", Yang Feng is determined to go abroad, take the responsibility, brave the risks, and take the lead, contributing to the internationalization and localization of SINOMA Nanjing.

Zhou Hua: A Marketing Hero Brave Coronavirus Risk

Zhou Hua hasn’t made spectacular deeds or amazing feats, but he is a market person worthy our high regards. He works an ordinary job but has been doing it conscientiously and diligently. Industriously studying state-of-the-art technologies, he constantly improves his professional skills and level. 

Following the “daring and pioneering” spirit, he loves his job and is willing to contribute. Step by step, he has been working to develop overseas markets in a solid way. 

He is a man of quiet dedication and hard work. Speaking no grand word, he has braved coronavirus risk, shouldered his responsibilities and fulfilled his missions without second thoughts.

Only in hard times can courage and perseverance be manifested, only through solid action can rare qualities be demonstrated. That speaks who he is -- Zhou Hua, the representative of East African Market of SINOMA International Nanjing.

At the beginning of 2020, the COVID-19 epidemic just broke out. Although his family was worried, Zhou Hua embarked on his journey to the African markets.

Strictly following the company's requirements, Zhou Hua wore mask and made minimum contacts with others throughout his flight. At the busy Dubai airport, most Chinese travelers wore masks regardless of the strange eyes of foreigners who had no ideas of the pandemic.

After an anxious flight, he finally arrived at Dar es Salaam International Airport in Tanzania. The Tanzanian Immigration Management Department set up a temporary check station to detect temperature and manage registration. Due to the inadequate staff, it took him more than 3 hours to entry the country

Upon his arrival at the Tanzanian branch, Zhou Hua was quarantined for 14 days. In a dormitory of about 10 m2 , his life and work were intertwined. He had online meetings with local owners and the branch company during the day while making communications with colleagues in China on their work at night. In this tight space, he kept working out to improve his immunity. In spite of insolating from others, the 14 days was fulfilling. Once it was over, he devoted himself to his busy work.

As the pandemic ravaging more countries in the world, Zhou Hua stopped his plans of travelling to Ethiopia, Kenya and Mozambique. He spared no efforts to develop Tanzania markets. He advanced BNBM gypsum board project, visited the site of Xinghao GU project, and cooperated with the Tanzanian branch to undertake square steel pipe factory project which is close to BNBM gypsum board project. By referring to SINOMA International Nanjing’s 246 Overseas Development Concepts, he made investigation and survey while studying applicable technologies. He had investigated the investment and market opportunities for various projects, such as lime burning project, aerated block project, color steel plate project and industrial plant project.

The sub-project of Rufiji Hydropower Dam, Tanzania's largest engineering project, has successfully signed.

In June 2020, the flight between Tanzania and Kenya was cut off. Overcoming various difficulties, Zhou Hua drove to Kenya. He met the clients in the face of the severe pandemic situation at that time, winning their respect and trust. On 1st December, 2022, he successfully signed a contract for the 8,000t/d clinker cement production line project in Savannah.
