Chen Bo, the site manager recognized by leaders and colleagues as a skilled problem solver, humbly describes himself as an “ordinary engineering person.” Meanwhile, his dedication to work is affectionately acknowledged by his wife and daughter, who lovingly refer to him as a “workaholic.” Over the past 15 years, he has celebrated six Spring Festivals at the project site. Remarkably, his average duration of stay at the project site amounts to 330 days per year.

“We have detected an irregularity in one of the equipment parameters. Please ask the electrical engineer to promptly contact the manufacturer to investigate the cause and implement necessary measures, ensuring the operation of the equipment.” Lately, Chen Bo has been engrossed in the preparations for the clinker line ignition of the Indonesia Giti project with 6,000 tons per day. Remarkably, he consistently achieves over 20,000 steps on his daily WeChat exercise tracker. His daily schedule stretches from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and often extends even further. From overseeing raw material processing to managing raw material grinding and clinker calcining, he navigates a comprehensive roadmap each day. However, Chen Bo’s heart brims with joy as he witnesses the remarkable transformation of a barren wasteland, which stood four years ago, into a thriving plant. A vivid memory from his initial visit to Indonesia four years ago resurfaced in his mind.

In early 2017, Chen Bo and a colleague, was assigned to embark on a pre-project research mission in Grobogan County, located in Central Java Province, Indonesia. During that period, Indonesia was an uncharted market for SINOMA International Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd (Nanjing Kisen). The level of English language proficiency among the local population was considerably low, with the majority conversing in Indonesian. How to solve this problem? Chen Bo used translation app to prepare for potential challenges in advance. He practiced simple questions in Indonesian while on the go, taking the time to hone his language skills. For more complex inquiries, he displayed the questions on his mobile phone or seeking the assistance of a local translator for support. The local transportation was notably inadequate, often resulting in arduous journeys of seven to eight hours for distances exceeding 100 kilometers. As part of his routine, he relied on map software to retrieve the names and addresses of various organizations. Using a combination of transportation methods, he would navigate his way to each destination, often spending approximately 10 hours on the road daily.

Through six months of dedicated research and meticulous preparation, Chen Bo successfully established effective communication channels with local immigration bureaus, police, tax bureaus and other relevant agencies. Additionally, he fostered connections with rural elders at the grassroots level, fostering a strong foundation in preparation for the project’s commencement and laying the groundwork for a seamless project launch.

In June 2021, the site faced the outbreak of the Delta virus. As the ignition phase was imminent, closure of the construction site was not feasible. However, the entry of the project owner and outsourced workers posed a heightened risk of virus transmission. During the peak period, hundreds of individuals were placed under quarantine measures. During this unprecedented period, Chen Bo took on the additional role of a psychological counselor. Each day, he tirelessly moved from one person to another, offering psychological counseling and support to individuals experiencing significant psychological fluctuations. He patiently explained the epidemic prevention policies and emergency measures, while also coordinating with domestic medical experts to address inquiries online. Furthermore, through various channels, he facilitated cooperation with local medical institutions to ensure necessary medical assistance was provided to those with severe symptoms.

“Chen Bo exhibits a remarkable sense of responsibility and assertiveness, coupled with a formidable aptitude for resolving complex issues. He tackles every task with unwavering determination, ensuring their completion without any compromises.” Wu Xiao, the project manager of the Giti project department speaks highly of Chen Bo’s performance and contributions.

Wu Jiangyan, Chen Bo’s wife, has frequently being mistaken for a single mother. But talking about her husband, Wu Jiangyan’s voice carries a hint of wistfulness but no trace of complaint. She remembered that once her husband had been on vacation for two days, their daughter had a fever of 40.2 degrees. But when the project department called, he immediately rushed to the site without uttering a word.

Reflecting on his role as a husband and father, Chen Bo acknowledges his absence during significant moments of his children’s growth, such as their first steps, first words, and first day of school.

Irrespective of the challenges that lie ahead, regardless of the adverse circumstances and the absence of substantial support, he will press on with unwavering determination, wholeheartedly devoted to the cause, ensuring that the mission is accomplished. This heroic and glorious, are embodied by Chen Bo, an unwavering figure in the realm of project management at SINOMA International Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd (Nanjing Kisen), who stands tall and resolute.

From youth to the age of 40, I have joined the company for 15 years, and shed sweat and youth for many contracted projects of the company. I am very proud to work hard for the development of the company. Pakistan's "Buddy"

Shakaib Ahmed Siddiqui

The term "iron brotherhood" derives from the dialectal expression "buddy," which signifies a deep bond of trust, solidity, and unwavering companionship. SINOMA Handan branch in Pakistan also shares such a profound connection, embodying the essence of this "brotherhood."

Shakaib Ahmed Siddiqui, a Pakistani, completed his studies at the University of Glamorgan, UK, in 2012, specializing in engineering management and earning a master's degree in science and engineering. Following his graduation, he amassed nearly five years of experience in the field of oil and gas exploration and EPC project construction. In February 2017, he joined SINOMA Handan branch in Pakistan, assuming the role of Foreign Affairs Supervisor. His primary responsibilities encompass logistics and customs clearance operations within Pakistan, as well as provide support to the Chinese team in expanding the market and handling local affairs. Over the course of his five-year tenure with the company, he has been recognized multiple times as an "Excellent Employee".

In his role overseeing logistics clearance, Shakaib has demonstrated great proficiency by successfully facilitating the customs clearance of numerous material shipments in Pakistan. His efforts have played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient progress of construction projects on site. During the audit of bank bills, he displayed proactive problem-solving skills by providing thorough explanations and addressing various inquiries in a professional manner. Additionally, he actively engaged with the bank to discuss exchange rate matters, striving to minimize costs for the company.

While supporting the Chinese team in market development and operations for the subsidiary, he actively participated in market operations and contract negotiations for several projects in Pakistan. The outbreak of the Covid-19 presented significant challenges to market operations. In addition to wearing protective gear during meetings to prevent cross-infection, he had to endure the entire process without eating, drinking, or taking restroom breaks. Moreover, he demonstrated exceptional physical endurance, sitting in meetings for an entire day to meet tight deadlines. Utilizing his strong English language skills, he played a vital role in reviewing the terms and conditions of English contracts, assisting the subsidiary in successfully signing six new construction contracts and achieving the annual operational target. Additionally, he actively cooperated in facilitating the collection of payments, taxes, fees, and deduction certificates. His diligent effort has enabled timely payment collection for various projects and alleviated the financial burden on the subsidiary.

He has consistently prioritized market operations and growth as the core of his business strategy. Leveraging cutting-edge construction information technology, he has effectively disseminated comprehensive market performance and business principles through local public media platforms. This concerted effort has led to a progressive elevation of the CNBM/SINOMA brand's standing within the Pakistani construction industry. Consequently, the majority of cement owners in Pakistan now acknowledge and appreciate the superior quality and timely construction progress consistently delivered by CNBM/SINOMA.

Regarding local affairs management, Shakaib has established proactive collaboration between the finance team and local authorities such as the tax office and financial and tax audit teams. This synergy ensures the seamless execution of all operations. In 2021, in terms of subsidiary company registration, he engaged in extensive communication with agents, guaranteeing the provision of comprehensive information and offering valuable support for future operations. Throughout that year, the subsidiary company received three tax inspection notices from the local tax bureau. His proactive approach facilitated effective communication between the finance team and the relevant authorities, leading to the successful completion of the tax inspections and the submission of recommendations for improvement. He diligently utilized his expertise to provide valuable advice and suggestions for the company's development. During the fiscal audit, he assumed the responsibility of liaising with the audit team, addressing inquiries, and successfully completing the audit inspection This ensured the fulfillment of all filing requirements and provided substantial support for the timely remittance of annual income tax.

Shakaib demonstrates a profound sense of responsibility and professionalism, exhibiting a genuine passion for his role and a strong commitment to his work. He consistently adheres to the company's work arrangements and displays excellent rapport with colleagues, fostering a cooperative and harmonious work environment. His robust understanding of business practices and efficient and high-quality performance garners unanimous recognition from the company.
